Touch screens are becoming famous and are now everywhere. But a common complaint from users is that smooth surfaces do not provide the sensual experience as good as having a physical keyboard. Although some devices to improve with a touch screen using mechanical vibration to the user experience with virtual keyboards, the method is not widespread, mainly due to mechanical vibrations are difficult to apply with precision, and often hand the whole device to vibrate, instead of a single dot on the screen.

Currently, an engineer from three different groups suggests a kind of tactile feedback that they believe is more popular than mechanical vibrations. Aka electro vibrations, uses the technique to simulate the sensation of electric charges localized vibrations and touch screen provides friction textures that are impossible to simulate the use of mechanical transmissions.
The electromagnetic vibration was proposed for touch screens in the 50s, even if the approach is not widespread because the screens are not commercially successful until recently. Today, because researchers have tried to improve the way shows get popular, other groups have also rediscovered the electrical oscillations.
Nokia has recently launched a smartphone prototype that uses this approach announced. And a Finnish company called SENSEG also set vibration on electronic touch screens, the agreements with three companies, technology in products that may be available in 2011 to take over.
